The Full Experience

This hands-on workshop in beeralu lace making takes place in Galle, at the local home of your host, who hails from a family of traditional beeralu lace makers. Your host will take you through the stages of beeralu lace making from start to finish. Drawing the pattern on graph paper to winding the threads around wooden bobbins and weaving the threads around the pins. While you sit in front of your beeralu Kotte or lace pillow trying your hands at making a piece of lace, your host will regale you with tales about the history of beeralu making in Sri Lanka.
Take back home a small piece your fine craftsmanship as a souvenir Once you finish your session, you can browse through an exquisite collection of beeralu lace on display.
